Intel Xeon D is the first SoC based on Intel Xeon Processor technology. Compared with its predecessor, the performance is enhanced per node/per watt. It features with 8 cores D1540 processor, 4 DDR4 ECC DIMM slots, capable of handling lightweight hyper-scale workloads. To give more details, the board has 6*SATA 3 slots and another 8*SAS3 slots from LSI3008 as a decent storage capacity, besides, there are double M.2 slots for either OS back-up or extra cache in big data environment. It has 4*DDR4 ECC DIMM slots, 6*SATA3, includes 1*SATA DOM for storage capacity, 1*PCIe3.0x16 slots for various purposes. To give examples, D1520D4I is ideal to deploy as micro server nodes in the scalable collocation web service market. It is also an option for those mini server users who want to upgrade the specification from the current SoC platform.
