Luxoft Holding, Inc. (NYSE:LXFT), a leading provider of software development services and innovative IT solutions to a global client base, today announced completion of its implementation of the HSA Conformance Test Suite, based on specifications and extensive input from members of the Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) Foundation’s Conformance Test Suite Working Group. The Conformance Suite allows all HSA Foundation members to test their platforms for compliance with HSA 1.0 specifications, and will be made available to all members of HSA.

The important goal of heterogeneous computing is to enable optimal performance of a system built on different processing architectures (e.g. CPU, GPGPU, and DSP). The HSA Foundation drives standards for development for the new era of computing. They are designed to unlock new levels of performance and power efficiency of the parallel computing engines found in most modern computing devices and data centers. The conformance tests are now available to HSA Foundation members: AMD, ARM, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek, Qualcomm, Samsung, Texas Instruments and others, to ensure compliance of their platforms with HSA 1.0 specifications.

HSA is an open, standardized platform design supported by more than 40 technology companies and 17 universities that increases the performance and power efficiency of the parallel computing engines found in most modern electronic devices. HSA benefits mobile devices and desktops, as well as for high-performance computing (HPC) systems and servers which solve complex tasks for Big Data analysis including, but not limited to, financial services, technology, and health care.

“Availability of the first HSA Conformance Test Suite is a major milestone for the HSA Foundation,” said Dr. John Glossner, President of the HSA Foundation. “We thank Luxoft for its leadership in developing the tests, and thank all of the member companies that contributed to this significant effort. This is a large project with very broad scope that will enable compatible heterogeneous systems and further the HSA Foundation’s vision of computing. We look forward to seeing the first HSA Conformant products entering the market soon.”

“At Luxoft, we believe that Heterogeneous System Architecture will transform computing as we know it, and having an open and well-defined standard is the key to making this transformation happen,” said Michael Minkevich, Luxoft’s Vice President of Technology Services. “The HSA Foundation and all its members have been doing incredible work in shaping this standard of the future. We are pleased to contribute the HSA Conformance Suite, first of the kind, which will make it easier for all members to create HSA-compliant products. We’ve put in countless hours in making this tool, and now the entire developer community can share in the benefits. In addition, Luxoft will provide engineering, testing and optimization services to compliment the Conformance Suite.”
