Interactive “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap – Are We to Terabit Ethernet Yet?” Birds of a Feather session explores Ethernet’s diversification and fast-approaching era of terabit speeds

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today announced details of its “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap – Are We to Terabit Ethernet Yet?” Birds of a Feather panel at SC15. Addressing Ethernet’s ongoing relevance to the HPC market, as well as its continued journey to terabit and beyond speeds, the panel will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the Neal Kocurek Memorial Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas.

WHAT: With its quickening diversification, the Ethernet Alliance’s 2015 Ethernet Roadmap has become a reliable guide to Ethernet’s future. In this “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap – Are We to Terabit Ethernet Yet?” panel, moderator Scott Kipp, president, Ethernet Alliance; and principal technologist, Brocade, will be joined by expert panelists David Chalupsky, chair, IEEE P802.3bq 25G/40GBASE-T Task Force, and Product Architect, Intel; Brandon Hoff, senior director, information technology, Avago Technologies; and Shreyas Shah, data center architect, Xilinx, Inc. The panel will address Ethernet’s ongoing expansion; how 2.5GbE and 5GbE will coexist with higher speeds such as 25GbE and 400GbE; and when the era of terabit/second and beyond Ethernet speeds will become a practical reality.

WHEN & WHERE: “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap – Are We to Terabit Ethernet Yet?” panel will be held from 12:15 – 1:15PM CST on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 during SC15 at the Neal Kocurek Memorial Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Those interested in achieving greater clarity into Ethernet’s continued evolution and expansion into new speeds and markets, including what challenges and opportunities might lie ahead, will benefit from attending “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap – Are We to Terabit Ethernet Yet?”

WHY ATTEND: With six new speeds being considered for standardization during the next five years, gaining greater understanding of Ethernet’s path forward, and subsequent challenges arising as these new speeds are developed, is critical. “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap – Are We to Terabit Ethernet Yet?” will deliver actionable insight and printed copies of the Ethernet Alliance 2015 Ethernet Roadmap will be made available.
