Moore' Law, which for decades has reliably predicted the doubling of processor performance every two years, is navigating a new set of hurdles. Conventional processors are experiencing limitations at the quantum physics level and coping with the amount of heat generated to obtain these faster speeds. In response, processor manufacturers like Intel and AMD have turned to multicore technology and parallelization to boost processor power.

We’ve heard of robots working in warehouses, picking the right windshield or a box of wiring harnesses from shevles. But what about making sure those shelves are stocked with the right stuff, in the right place, at the right time? Marc Gyongosi thinks that flying robots – better known as drones – are right for the job. Marc is the CEO founder of IFM, or Intelligent Flying Machines, which is pretty much what IFM does.

To really understand what is special about Bitcoin, we need to understand how it works at a technical level. We’ll address the important questions about Bitcoin, such as: How does Bitcoin work? What makes Bitcoin different? How secure are your Bitcoins? How anonymous are Bitcoin users? What determines the price of Bitcoins? Can cryptocurrencies be regulated? What might the future hold?

This five-course accelerated specialization is designed for data professionals who are responsible for designing, building, analyzing, and optimizing big data solutions. Through a combination of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs, you'll learn how to carry out serverless data analysis and productionize machine learning models. This specialization is designed to give participants a robust hands-on experience and is primarily lab-focused.
-
Learn about artificial neural networks and how they're being used for machine learning, as applied to speech and object recognition, image segmentation, modeling language and human motion, etc. We'll emphasize both the basic algorithms and the practical tricks needed to get them to work well.

In a fews days, the TERATEC association is going to hold the 12th edition of its annual Forum at the prestigious Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France. For those who are not familiar with TERATEC, the association is a European pole of competence in high performance digital simulation which brings today over eighty technological and industrial companies, laboratories and research centers, universities and engineering schools to combine their resources in the strategic area of Simulation and HPC. Many notorious companies of the HPC universe such as DDN, Cray, Mellanox or Nvidia are TERATEC members.

Over the past five years our HPC community has made a lot of good progress towards what some call the “democratization of HPC”, i.e. the trend towards making high performance computing (HPC) available to a larger and larger group of engineers and scientists. One influencing factor is cloud computing which enables those who can’t afford or don’t want to buy their own HPC server to access computing resources in the cloud, on demand, and pay only for what they use.
